Suffragan Bishop Vorrath visits KLINCKE
On 10 October 2011 Suffragan Bishop Franz Vorrath came to visit the Hermann Klincke wire-drawing mill. Within in the frame of his visitation to the largest congregation within the diocese of Essen in terms of area the visit to an industrial operation was part of the programme. We highly appreciate that the St. Mathew-Congregation made the choice for our company.
Suffragan Bishop Vorrath was accompanied not only by his personal assistant but parish priest Schmalenbach plus the parochial church council members Bernard and Flusche demonstrating great interest in technical matters. He eagerly listened to the comments of Technical Manager Holger Falz who explained the principles of wire-drawing. As the Suffragan Bishop allowed a lot of time for meeting with the workers and administrative employees a good discussion came up after the tour through the operation while enjoying coffee and cakes

Anniversary
On 23 September 1991 Ms Erika Karthäuser joined Max W. Claas. It all started with the replacement of another person who was on maternity leave but very quickly turned into a permanent employment. Our customers know Ms Karthäuser as a junior departmental manager who stands out for her friendliness and high readiness to work. She is highly respected among all employees for her particular attention to the wellbeing of her colleagues.
The Management expresses profound gratitude for her commitment, which goes far beyond what is normally expected, looking forward to many more years of good cooperation.

News from Claas and Klincke
When the Max W. Claas GmbH & Co. KG will be moving to their new building in the next months, this will be a significant step in the wire history of Altena. The whole story began in 1738, in a century, when absolutism was at reign with the ordinary people frequently living in poverty.

News from Claas and Klincke
This year we at Max W. Claas GmbH & Co. KG and Hermann Klincke J.H. Sohn GmbH & Co. KG were also represented at the WIRE exhibition in Düsseldorf. Existing contacts were looked after, new contacts sought and interesting conversations took place regarding everything to do with wire in an area of nearly 50 square metres. The main focus of the conversations was our new wire drawing line that can manufacture wire from 20 mm to 50 mm. This range is still unique!

News from Claas and Klincke
Dear Readers,
Today you can see the first edition of our customer magazine INNOVATION. In the last few months so much has been happening at Claas and Klincke that we would like to use this magazine as a medium to inform you about these news. Furthermore, as we will be having a lot of innovation to offer in the next few months and years, you will be receiving INNOVATION twice a year.
In spite of all these positive news, we are also subject to the circumstances in the world market. We, as nearly all other industrial enterprises have also been affected by negative change. Cancellations, slumps in sales, and short time work are preoccupying us and our employees. At the same time we are using this time to strengthen our position, expand our range of products and make new markets accessible.
We are not just waiting but are actively and creatively leading our company through these difficult times. Enjoy reading this edition and lets hope that we dont have to wait too long for the upturn.
Bernd Falz

Logistics centre
To 13th octobre 2007 the new logistics centre at HERMANN KLINCKE was taken solemnly into service. On the earlier area of "Altenaer Autohaus" a warehouse for the storage and order-picking of wire was developed on a surface of 1.200 m². A special highlight is the possibility to load trucks into the warehouse to be independent from weather influence. Over a fully concealable hydraulic ramp containers can be load comfortably in the future. Also to emphasize is the the installation of an under-floor heating, with which the resulting process heat from production is used.

Departure into unknown dimensions
In septembre 2007 CLAAS ordered a new wire-drawing machine fur running-in-diameters up to 50.00 mm. The machine is particularly appropiate for the requirements of the innovative cold upsetting industry, which want to extend the border of the massive forming.
Also active interest prevails with manufacturers of coldly wound springs, which provide high quality requirements for their products against the wire surface. The machine is delivered in June 2008 and is prospective the firs drawing plant in Germany with a working area from 25.00 to 50.00 mm. Equipped with an new bundle bending mechanism inner diameters between 850 and 1,200 mm are manufactured. The largest outside diameter will be with 1600 mm. The maximum bundle weight can be, dependent to the weight of the used wire rod, 3,000 kg.
